Overwhelm is more than just a reaction to our current political and news climate, it is also a strategy deployed by those who would like to ensure we stop paying attention to what is actually unfolding, or feel passive and helpless.
In this environment, practices designed to help us cope with overwhelm can be very useful. This 45 minuter session from our weekly "Reset" mindfulness gathering includes 3 separate guided practices, as well as teachings and reflection practices to help us regulate the nervous system to help us show up in our world with clear eyes and a clear head, no matter what unfolds.
Join Justine and Path to Calm for a nourishing grounding practice inspired by the elements designed to reset your nervous system and provide support in times of challenge. In this session, recorded at the Wednesday Weekly Reset on November 13, 2024 mindfulness practice, you'll be guided to connect deeply with the earth through an exploration of physical sensations, environmental awareness, and the elements that make up both the earth and our own bodies. Settle in, tune in, and let the earth hold you. All are welcome.
This is a 35 minute guided practice to support especially for those suffering anxiety, fear, grief and pain surrounding current political events in the US who are interested in exploring meditation as part of their response and self care support.
The practice includes three guided practices (embodied awareness and breathing, self compassion, and the practice of Tonglen (breathing in the suffering of others and sending out healing). These practices are aimed around regulating the nervous system, offering care and compassion to self and others, recognizing the importance of our connections and inviting us to the self inquiry "what action is needed."
